This plan is the result of extensive diocesan-wide input, including deanery meetings, parish/cluster data analysis, and prayerful reflection. The plan is a call to a great spiritual awakening, empowering our parishes to move from maintenance to mission and experience renewed growth. We believe in you and in our collective ability to engage in the work of evangelization laid out by St. Pope Paul VI, St. Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict, Pope Francis, as well as Bishop Powers in his pastoral letter. This plan clarifies the criteria for future changes while emphasizing that most clusters are currently in a sound position. It's time to embrace the challenge and work together to revitalize our Catholic Church here in northern Wisconsin.
This Pastoral Plan provides a framework with six key pillars, focusing on mission, people, governance, and the inevitability of change. It emphasizes the importance of parish self-assessment, goal setting, and ongoing evaluation. The plan encourages parishes to focus on making disciples and becoming hubs of authentic Catholic community. It outlines the roles of clergy and laity in this mission and provides guidelines for parish governance, including finance councils, pastoral councils, and evangelization teams. We are excited to embark on this journey together, revitalizing our parishes and bringing the light of Christ to our communities.
