Fr. Hery Junianto, s.x., of the St. Francis Xavier Missionaries, will preach the Mission Appeal in our cluster May 18-19 as part of the annual Missionary Cooperation Plan.
Fr. Hery, born in Indonesia, graduated from Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo De Manila University in the Philippines. He was ordained in Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2014. After his ordination, he was assigned as a missionary to a small remote island, Siberut, Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra, Indonesia. He worked there as a Vicar at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish.
After seven years working in his own country, the General Superior of his congregation assigned him to the USA. Now, he is presently residing at the Xaverian Mission in Franklin, Wisconsin, and working in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. He is willing to share his mission experience with anyone interested.
As an exclusively foreign mission society, the Xaverian Fathers and Brothers depend greatly on proceeds from this collection. They carry out their service in Bangladesh, Brazil, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Columbia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Great Britain, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Mozambique, the Philippines, Siera Leone, Spain, Taiwan, and the United States.
Please extend a warm welcome to Fr. Junianto, and thank you for your generosity to the St. Francis Xavier Missionaries!
About the Missionary Cooperation Plan
Since 1954, The Society for the Propagation of the Faith office (SPOF) in Milwaukee, on behalf of the archdiocese and the archbishop, has facilitated the Missionary Cooperation Plan (MCP).
The Missionary Cooperation Plan (MCP) is:
an annual chance for mission congregations, lay organizations, and mission dioceses to personally appeal for prayer and financial support from Catholics of the U.S.
an opportunity for parishioners to learn about what is happening in the mission field today. It connects the local church with the global Church and allows us to realize our baptismal call.
